We are a Baltimore-based band looking for a new guitarist. This would be the lead guitarist spot, but we are not looking for a shredder to rip off 25 minute solos. We're looking more for someone who can write and play really great lead parts that weave into the melody of the song and sometimes do some light soloing, much like the lead parts in the below bands we've listed. Huge plus if you're a multi-instrumentalist, including singing. Vocal harmonies are a big part of what we're trying to accomplish. Our current line-up consists of Lead Singer/Guitarist/Keys, Bassist/Backing Vocals, Drummer. We are looking for a solid musician who wants to make a career out of music, is easy to get along with, and is passionate about making music. Bands we sounds like: Kings Of Leon, Local Natives, Coldplay, The Killers, Keane, NEEDTOBREATHE, Young The Giant, Cold War Kids, Jimmy Eat World. Basically...indie/alternative pop-rock. Things we want from you: 1. Solid musicianship. 2. Expressed commitment -- if we have the opportunity to tour tomorrow, would you be willing to do so? Ability to practice regularly? 3. Passion for the project (inspiration, drive, etc). 4. Interest in the style of music. 5. Personality -- can we all spend 18 hours in a van together? Outgoing? Team player? 6. Reliable transportation. 7. Gear good enough to gig (with intentions to always be upping your gear). 8. Multi-instrumentalist would be a plus. 9. Studio/Live experience preferred. We are very easy to get along with, very motivated, and love music through and through. Among other things, we have one studio full length under our belts, have consistent airplay on HFS, and have played shows all over the east coast.
